They showed a rather detailed photo of the 24k gold CD edition! What they showed was a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ITEM! Now, I was expecting it to be possible that eBay would replace that with a picture of just the album cover resulting in a listing that would not ''stand out'', but also not be misrepresenting the item. Worse yet, I recently listed a red vinyl record (the red version is very limited, so my primary photo was a stock photo that I sourced myself (not provided by eBay) showing the red vinyl). For eBay to go in and use a generic picture is infuriating. I spend a lot of time taking my own pictures, as well as sourcing stock photos that highlight what is different/special about the version I'm selling. Most of my items are new, however, I specialize in collectible versions, so a generic photo is not going to help sales. The removal process took several hours each time. So, you could imagine my frustration when just last week some of the same items were showing stock photos again. This first happened about a month or two ago, and I went into over 800 different listings individually and removed any stock photos that were present. However, at least in some cases, it eventually comes back. I am able to revise the listing, un-check the box and remove the stock photo.
It seems that after a listing is active for some time, the box is ''re-checking'' itself. However, I am STILL seeing stock photos on some listings. First of all, I ALWAYS un-check the box so that eBay does not enter their own information, as at least a portion of that information is almost always wrong.
